Q1 Newsletter

We’re excited to launch our very first newsletter for 2019!

View of the Market

With Brexit and stockpiling the talk of the town, it seems that we continue 2019 where we left 2018, in continued uncertainty.

Developers in London are bringing forward project deliveries, indicators show that the housing market has dipped again and new research by Atradiu suggests that there will be an increase in the amount of companies going into liquidation if there is a no-deal Brexit in March.

As a company, we are confident in our ability to provide a dynamic response to changing economic circumstances and believe that there are also opportunities to take advantage of, however we continue to monitor the market closely.

An Update on PSH

We’ve had a very exciting start to the new year with five new joiners in the past three months demonstrating the strength of our growing business and the exciting projects we’re working on.

Our new joiners include Jennifer Pugh, Senior Sustainability Consultant, who joins us from Hoare Lea, her focus will be setting up and expanding our Energy & Sustainability team with a particular focus on BREEAM.

In addition to Jennifer, we have also added Matt Baillie – Principal Mechanical Engineer, Dale Fisher – Electrical Engineer, Mohammed Al-Musawi – Mechanical Engineer and Joe Chillmaid – CAD Technician all joining PSH.

Wins & Completions

Hotels & Hospitality

The Hotels & Hospitality sector continues to be a dominant area of our business, with a number of projects currently in design and on site, including 82 West India Dock Road which secured planning permission late last year. We are providing MEP, Energy, BREEAM & Vertical Transportation services through all design stages with an anticipated site commencement in Q3/4 2019.

82 West India Dock Road is a mixed-use scheme consisting of 400 hotel guestrooms and 66 residential units spread over 29 storeys including 3rd party commercial space at ground floor. The site is located adjacent to Westferry DLR station.

Residential

We continue to grow our residential sector capabilities and build on our successful relationship with Greystar having been appointed as MEP consultant on a second residential block within their Greenford Quay development, which includes 1,965 units occupying seven buildings which range from 8-14 storeys in height. PSH is now acting on Block 04 & Block 06 which combined provide in excess of 500 residential units.

Commercial

Whilst we see less activity in comparison to the Hospitality and Residential sectors, we remain consistently buoyant in this area of the construction industry. We are currently delivering a new office space for Nvidia at their UK HQ in Green Park, Reading. This is due for completion in April 2019.

Looking Ahead

As winter draws to a close and we look forward to the warmer months, whilst there are many uncertainties within the UK economy, as a business we remain optimistic that 2019 will continue in the positive nature in which it has set out.

Finally, our Director Andrew Haskins will be attending MIPIM next week so please look out for him or make contact if you would like to arrange a meeting.

All the best from all of us here at PSH.
